Teacher Planners!

Hi. My name is Katie and I loved to be organized. I'm the type of person that gets a little giddy when I see the new planners at Target. Even if I DON'T need one. Weekly calendar dry erase boards, post-it notes and checklists all make me smile. Add in a new set of colorful pens and I'm definitely in my happy place!
It certainly doesn't take much to make me happy! ;)

This year I decided to do away with a personal planner completely. It was also important that I keep my plans for Alex at home organized along with my plans for school, the calendar and all other important life things all in one place. I knew it would be too hard to keep up with too many planners/calendars!

This year Will requested one too so I took out some of the "cuteness" factor to make it more high school/male teacher friendly! 😉

I always think about what worked or didn't work from last year's planner, then work on adding and updating things to make it easier and more efficient!

What is it about colored pens that make everything so much more fun?

What I love about putting together my own planner is being able to choose how many of each page I want! Last year I had way too many meeting notes pages so this year I only printed a couple!

Lots of room to write in the calendar and I have months up through July 2018 available. Also 1 page month spread in case you don't need so much space.

Got to love To-Do list!  I printed off our state standards to add for easy access too.

Lesson plan pages!! I have lots of varieties and can customize them for you to meet your needs! I'm old school and like to write them, and have used several different versions depending on the year and what I am teaching.

For my current school I plan the whole unit out because I'm only planning for two days a week.

Below are my plan pages for Alex at home. I have weekly one page or two page options. He gets his own section in my planner. ;)

Here is a glimpse of Will's.
He has to do lesson plans online, but still wanted pages to write notes, keep up with what he had covered, and have a place for big picture unit stuff. Of course, since I am me, I had to color coordinate the cover and divider pages with his school colors. :)

If you want one too you can click here or on the picture below to check them out! My planner is the colorful one. There are multiple options for the covers/dividers.

The best part was I pretty much printed the whole thing for free! I had to get a new printer this summer and enrolled in Hp instant ink which is AMAZING! You get 3 free months when you sign up with a new printer (also check for other promotion codes too!) and if you use my referral code we will both get a free month: http://try.hpinstantink.com/frmbq

Happy Planning!

Agenda

Even inquirers needs a peek at what is going on during the day! Every year my kids really appreciate having a daily agenda so they know what to expect. It also saves me a lot of time having to remind them what comes next. Its also been a huge help for some of my kids who need that extra routine and schedule to be able to focus on learning. Some years I have even had an agenda checker--that friend that checks off the picture after we finished it!
My agenda has varied a lot through the years. For a while we had to have it go in a circle, starting at 11 o'clock. Then we were allowed to have it as a flow map and last year I had our day going vertically down my board. Well, this year I made some new circular agenda cards and I didn't it like it vertical, but it looks FABULOUS going horizontal across the top of my board!

It fills in that kind of unused space and I love it! I have some room to write more detail underneath. I am contemplating using a thin border or tape to section it off, but for now I will leave it the way it is! :)  I normally don't put times down so I can make teacher adjustments as necessary, but occasionally if our schedule is different or we have an assembly, I put the time up as a reminder to me!

These agenda cards are available at my TPT store! Go check them out! If you buy them and need some of the wording changed for your schedule feel free to email me at inquiringourway@gmail.com and I can make those adjustments for you!

TPT sale!

(graphic by more than math mo)
Teachers Pay Teachers is having their back to school sale!
Here are a couple of back to school items that might be helpful for you!

Worldly Word Wall
Each letter of the alphabet has a city and picture to match! I glued these to a sheet of construction paper and laminated. Then I taped our sight words underneath the letter! It was easy to take the letters off and start again each school year!

Travel Themed Classroom Jobs
Let your students take off and land the every day jobs in your classroom!

Stamp a Sight Word!
Do you every struggle to figure out what to keep your kids working on while you try to complete beginning of the school testing? This activity kept my kids busy, but ENGAGED, last year while I worked on mine! It was perfect practice as the year went on too!

Handwriting Mad Libs
I used this activity later in the year, but if you are starting out in second or have a group of high flying firsties this would be a great beginning of the school activity! Your students can practice their handwriting, reading, and comprehension by tracing each story, and then filling in some words to help the sentences make sense!

Be sure to check out all the fun things in my store and download the freebies too! :)

Thanks!

Teacher Planner!

At the end of the school year, my brain always starts thinking about next year! I loved all the cute teacher planners that were out there, but none had quite everything I wanted.... So I made my own!
I made one planner but decided the background was a bit too dark so I decided to redo it. I found melstampz here and I love her digital papers! The fonts are by Kimberly Gershwin. I love everything she does!
I printed most of it at home because I didn't have a lot of printing credit at school. I tried to keep color to a minimum on some pages because I know it can add up, but I took it to Staples and had it bound for under $5! I was excited about that!

Here are some pictures of what it looks like! (sorry for the bad picture quality... this was my Iphone! ;) )

The cover! It has a clear cover and a black back.

There are tabs for Important Information, Student Checklists, Meeting Notes, Calendar, Lesson Plans and To Do Lists!

Lots of student checklist pages so I don't have papers all over the place!

I made some little tabs to keep up with the different sections. You can print those out on cardstock and glue them on!

I included lesson plan pages with the days of the week on top or on the side. I like to put my small group plans right after my weekly plans so that is how I copied it. I have my tabs specific to what I like to do but left them blank so you could have more freedom!

Of course a plan book wouldn't be complete without to do lists! I am obsessed!

Would you like to download a copy? You can find your free version here!!

If you download and love it, will you PLEASE show me a little love by leaving a comment or following this blog (see on the side) and my teacher pay teacher store?

Thanks a bunch! Happy Planning!
